kyoto | Japan
This two-day professional learning experience will bring together international teachers from around Japan at Kyotographie: the international photography festival held annually in unique venues across Kyoto.
Art, design, humanities and language teachers are invited to come along to explore how artistic and cultural experiences provide valuable learning opportunities for teachers and students across the curriculum.
The program is guided by a creative cycle of inquiry, involving experience, creation and reflection. Expect an active, energizing and inspiring professional development forum that will equip you with new skills and ideas to use in your classroom the next day.

Creative Connections sparked from a discussion amongst the Art and Design teachers at Canadian Academy who were seeking an engaging, vibrant learning experience in their content areas. Many of us have participated in curriculum workshops but want more from a professional development experience: to develop new skills and ideas, and most importantly to learn from the expert teachers in our field.
The purpose of Creative Connections is to provide an opportunity for teachers to inquire about best practice in international education, to share knowledge and expertise from the classroom, to have an enriching learning experience at Kyotographie, and to develop new skills and ideas through hands-on, teacher-led workshops.
